WORTH EXPERIENCING

Whether it is by helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft, it is the ideal way to ensure an adventure on the largest island in the world.

Flying in Greenland just has to be experienced before it’s possible to understand, why a smile spreads across your face when looking out of the window and seeing the fells, the sea and Greenland from a completely new perspective.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

There are three options that enable you to go flying during your stay in Greenland: A scheduled service, an organised excursion or chartering your own aircraft. A great number of scheduled services in Greenland takes place by helicopter, e.g. in South Greenland and Disko Bay during the winter. This enables you to see Greenland at low altitude when going from A to B.

In addition, there are a number of organised excursions by aircraft. The tour to the Icefjord near Ilulissat described in this newsletter is available at several bureaus. However, if you really want to experience a great adventure, you can also charter your own aircraft – and thus decide yourself where you wish to fly and for how long.

Air Greenland is the biggest operator of charter helicopters in Greenland, but also Heli Greenland offers flight seeing from several cities on the west coast.

There is also the possibility to go sightseeing by regular airplane. AirZafari operates out of Kangerlussuaq, Ilulissat and Kulusuk/Tasiilaq.
