Arctic Circle Race

Arctic Circle Race is considered by many to be the toughest and most beautiful cross-country skiing race in the world.

Skiers from all over the world race 160 km across 3 days, spending nights camping in tents in the wilderness.

    The Aasiaat Midnight Sun Marathon takes place, as the name suggests, under the midnight sun. The island of Aasiaat does not have many roads to offer, meaning that the marathon route has to be lapped a few times in order to make up the full 42 km.

    Tasermijit Marathon is one of several marathon races in the region, said to be the 'easiest' of them all. The route goes through the Tasiusaq settlement, fjord coastline and sheep farm, and it finishes with a series of elevation climbs to save the best view for last.

    Nuuk Half Marathon

    June 24, 2023

    The Nuuk Halvmarathon (Half Marathon) is a relatively flat route, mostly on asphalt. The marathon is held with start and finish from Royal Arctic Line's headquarters.

  • NuukKap Extreme Running Race

    July 6, 2023 - July 8, 2023

    NuukKap is an extreme ultra running race held in the wild arctic nature. The route is 110 km of wild untouched nature.  You can also run or wander 70 km from Nuuk to Qooqqut which is where the 110 km wanders will stay over night. The midnight sun makes sure that the runners have visibility even in the night.

    The Polar Circle Marathon is unique in that it is the only marathon in which you can run on Greenland’s IceCap itself. The majority of the course, however, is run on road, which is often covered in snow, due to the race taking place in late October.
