The Polar Circle Marathon

The Polar Circle Marathon is unique in that it is the only marathon in which you can run on Greenland’s IceCap itself. The majority of the course, however, is run on road, which is often covered in snow, due to the race taking place in late October.

    Imagine yourself running by the breathtaking scenery of the Ilulissat Icefjord under the midnight sun. Especially if you are an active night owl, you don't want to miss this event.

    The Aasiaat Midnight Sun Marathon takes place, as the name suggests, under the midnight sun. The island of Aasiaat does not have many roads to offer, meaning that the marathon route has to be lapped a few times in order to make up the full 42 km.

  • Tasermijit Marathon

    June 24, 2023

    Tasermijit Marathon is one of several marathon races in the region, said to be the 'easiest' of them all. The route goes through the Tasiusaq settlement, fjord coastline and sheep farm, and it finishes with a series of elevation climbs to save the best view for last.

    Nuuk Half Marathon

    June 28, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

    The Nuuk Halvmarathon (Half Marathon) is a relatively flat route, mostly on asphalt. The marathon is held with start and finish from Royal Arctic Line's headquarters.
