Take a look at Hans Egede’s House. Walk past the University of Greenland and experience examples of modern architecture in harmony with the surrounding countryside.
The cultural centre at Katuaq with its wave-like facade is also well worth a closer look. This also applies to the art museum, which houses the latest trends in art and handicrafts. - Close to the local population
The tour begins at Tupilak Travel’s office. The first stop is the animal skin sewing workshop, Kittat, where the guide describes traditional tanning of animal skin, the national costume and embroidering of animal skins for around half an hour.
The tour then continues to the house of a local family who are ready with a well-laid table and good stories about everyday life in Nuuk, then and now. - Souvenir shopping
In Tupilak Travel’s shop you can find various handicrafts such as masks, figures made of reindeer antler and soapstone, jewellery made of walrus tusk, narwhal tusk, reindeer antler musk ox horn and polar bear and seal claw.
It’s also possible to explore an exciting range of sealskin products, including furs, jackets, mittens, hats, slippers, wallets, bags, pencil cases, belts, etc. – all in designs that are faithful to Greenlandic culture and history. - Boat trips
