Camp Itivi is located near the inland ice at the Nuuk Fjord. Here you are protected from wind and weather by mountains on three sides, and you have a clear view over the fjord, where icebergs slowly pass by.
In front of the camp, icebergs find their way into the fjord with the tide and smaller pieces of ice remain at the edge of the water at low tide so that you can enjoy an incredible and unique view every morning.
The camp is located at a place where the Inuit once went hunting with their kayaks. Later, ships of the northerners also sailed by because it was easiest for them to cross the ridge via the lowest point. This is the so-called “Itivi”, the crossing point.

Experiences offered at Camp Itivi
Sailing to Camp Itivi
The experience already starts on the way to the camp, where you sail in an open boat in protective clothing, ski goggles, and a life vest.
This is a conscious decision, as we want to give our guests the opportunity to experience the breathtaking nature of the area up close.
Along the way, you can see waterfalls on the mountain slopes, icebergs, and various species of birds. If you’re lucky, you might even spot seals and whales. During your voyage, the captain will draw your attention to sights, in case you do not spot the fast-diving seals or eagles hovering high above their nest.
The Camp
If you want to experience nature up close while spending your nights in a comfortable bed and be served delicious food, then Camp Itivi is the perfect place for you.
Everything is taken care of here, so you can just relax and enjoy the fantastic tranquillity that surrounds the cottages. The only sounds you’ll hear are the crackling of the icebergs on the water and the sparrows chirping in the boundless nature.
We have shower booths and an outdoor wilderness bath where you can enjoy a warm soak in nature.
