KangNu Running Race

August 24

KangNu is a terrain running race that takes place in the fiord of Nuuk.

The participants are sailed to the start point in Kangerluaarsunnguaq which is a 10 min. sail trip. The finish line is in Nuuk, where spectators and the prize ceremony will be.

The run has three distances: Ultra run of 56 km (ITRA international approved), 35 km and 20 km (you can also choose to wander the 20 km).

Everyone is welcome.

Sarfaq City Run Nuuk

September 27 @ 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm

Run with the locals in different locations along the west coast. The price includes accommodation at the Couchette onboard the ship. There will will be timers, a photographer, speak and entertainment and there will be fruit and water for everyone. Information / Welcome on board the ship in the TV lounge at 8.45 p.m. - 9.15 p.m.

Colourful Food Festival - Once a year Sermersooq Business Council arrange the annual Food Festival in Colourful Nuuk.
Here you can taste local food, talk to foodbusinesses, enjoy learning about Greenlandic gourmet and of course meet and mingle with locals.

Nuuk Snow Festival

March 5, 2020 - March 8, 2020

Nuuk Snow Festival was held for the first time in 1994.
At that time it was not only the first in Nuuk, but the first in all of Greenland!

Nuuk Snow Festival brings people together in teams, but also as visitors.

The festival site was the ideal place to go, both for family trips and for the romantic first date.

Maaji Nuan!

May 1, 2020 - May 31, 2020

Each year an entire month is dedicated to sport events in Greenland, which are free of charge.

Better known as ‘Maaji Nuan’ in Nuuk - the sport event takes place in several other towns in Greenland under different names, where they, just as in Nuuk, offer free sport activities to everyone.

‘Maaji Nuan!’ means ‘lovely May’ in Greenlandic and indeed it is a lovely month. Maaji Nuan!’s main focus is to strengthen the unity of the local community.

There are plenty of activities throughout the month. The activities spands from running on the landing strip in the airport, free fitness training, triathlon to soccer tournaments for the homeless and training in traditional Greenlandic polka dancing.

NuukKap Extreme Running Race

July 1, 2020 - July 3, 2020

NuukKap is an extreme ultra running race held in the wild arctic nature.

The route is 110 km of wild untouched nature. 

You can also run or wander 70 km from Nuuk to Qooqqut which is where the 110 km wanders will stay over night.

The midnight sun makes sure that the runners have visibility even in the night.
