ARCTIC CIRCLE RACE – ACR
Arctic Circle Race is a 160 km cross country ski race that has been called the world’s toughest cross-country skiing race, and for good reason.
For almost two decades skiers from all over the world have competed against each other in the classic cross-country discipline. 160 kilometres over a period of 3 days with overnight stays in tents in the wilderness – sometimes in temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees C.
Arctic Circle Race is held around Sisimiut on Greenland’s west coast in the midst of magnificent scenery. Surrounded by endless snow-clad landscapes and by the warmth and helpfulness of the many volunteers and other competitors, the skiers head out into the Arctic winter landscape year after year.
