Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aasiaat Midnight Sun Marathon this year!
Join enthusiasts from across the globe in the Aasiaat Midnight Sun Marathon. Typically, around 300 runners participate in this exhilarating event.
No need for headlamps here! From late May to August, the sun never sets north of the Arctic Circle, ensuring daylight for the entire 24 hours.
Four Laps Around Aasiaat
The Aasiaat roads may not stretch to marathon length, but the course compensates with four laps through the city and out towards the airport. This unique route not only showcases Aasiaat’s charm but also increases your chances of spotting whales, basking in the midnight sun, and enjoying the stunning landscapes.
While the marathon is a highlight for runners, it’s also a key summer event in Aasiaat. Non-runners will find plenty to enjoy too, from being part of the enthusiastic crowd to experiencing the festive atmosphere and accompanying events.
Don’t feel up for a full marathon? No problem! There are shorter distances available: 4.2 km, 10.5 km, and 21 km races to accommodate all levels of fitness and enthusiasm.
