With its waterfront location on Qeqertarsuaq, Disko Island, these beach igloos provide vistas to the sea during the summer and out to the frozen ice during the winter. The stars in the sky emerge when the midnight sun begins to lose its strength. This two-level igloo has a wooden interior, with sleeping quarters upstairs and living quarters downstairs. From here you can explore the wonders of Greenland’s only volcanic region, including basalt rock and black sand beaches.

Sleep in unique airborne tents called tentsiles in Nuuk‘s backcountry, near the suburb of Qinngorput. Pitched against two granite rocks, this immersive experience can be tried all year round in snow, under the northern lights and the midnight sun.
One takes a moderate-level guided hike to the location with amazing views of Qinngorput, Nuuk harbour and Nuuk fjord.
Your expert guides from Two Ravens will also take you for a walk and cook local food (think hearty lamb soup) over a campfire so you can really feel like you’re in the wild!

As the midnight sun begins to fade and northern lights start to reappear in the sky, these new glass aurora cabins offered by Hotel Arctic beckon. If you’re lucky, you’ll fall asleep under the northern lights and wake up to the spectacular view of the Disko Bay. These deluxe cabins come equipped with mod cons like bath, toilet, mini fridge and Wi-Fi.

Camp Kangiusaq, run by Nuuk Water taxi, is a comfortable offering situated 90 km in Kangiuaq fjord, in the Nuuk fjord. Dinner peppered with Greenlandic produce will be served in the communal tent. Use the camp as a base to go kayaking, hiking, SUP boarding or just relaxing out in nature.

Arctic Umiaq Line’s For those with strong sea legs and a thirst to travel ‘the original way’, you’ll probably be drawn to Sarfaq Ittuk.
The sturdy coastal ferry of Greenland has launched a new 14 day programme that will allow it to go as south as Nanortalik and as north as Upernavik. This new itinerary promotes slow travelling and allows tourists to hop on and off the ship to experience the different communities for a longer time.
Newly introduced suites provide additional comfort to the guest looking for relaxation, or you can still choose to sleep with the locals in open sleeping berths called couchettes, or private cabins.

If you want to push your boundaries, it’s possible to sleep in a hand-built snow igloo in East Greenland!
Packed snow is used to build the blocks of this literally cool accommodation. You’ll take a snowmobile or dogsled from Tasiilaq to reach your overnight accommodation and provided with a hot meal and insights into culture. With Tasiilaq tours you can try their mobile sauna while with Sermilik Adventures you might also take part in building the igloo!

Perched at the water’s edge of the Nuup Kangerlua fjord is a glass igloo complemented by a sauna and spa. Inside, you’re protected from the elements but can still experience the force of Sassuma Arnaa, the mother of the sea. The ambiance includes waves hitting the shore, strong winds, and birds flying above the transparent ceiling. The igloo offers comfortable amenities, including Wi-Fi, kitchenette, and toilet (not bathroom). It’s an ideal location to watch the stunning change from daylight to dusk over the Nuuk fjord and Sermitsiaq.

Greenland’s most famous calving glacier, Eqip Sermia is a good 80 kilometres sailing trip from the town of Ilulissat and Glacier Lodge Eqi is nicely positioned to experience all the action.
In 2024, Glacier Lodge Eqi expands its offerings with 9 new front new De Luxe Cabins, making it a total of 23 cabins and 6 glamping tents. Relax on the terrace with glacier views with a good conscience, as electricity is sourced comes from solar cells!

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Sermilik Fjord, the Icecamp is an adventurer’s dream base, conveniently positioned near the majestic Helheim Glacier and Johan Petersen Fjord. The camp boasts a welcoming main building with a communal kitchen and a cozy lounge. Guests can retreat to one of the five charming huts, each designed for two, offering comfort with a designated sleeping area, bathroom, and uninterrupted electricity (allowing for warm showers even in the wintertime!)

Relax in a bungalow in Ilimanaq Lodge, positioned by the water’s edge with 5 star views of floating icebergs! Whether it’s time to read a book, view the icebergs floating by, or even spotting a whale, doing ‘nothing’ was never more exciting. This whole project thinks in a local element, whether you’re eating scrumptious food in the oldest building in town or being guided by a local around the area.

The Arctic Circle Trail is a 160 kilometre long hike, ski or bike in the backcountry between Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq at 66.6° N.
A truly isolated trek, there are no shops or cell-phone coverage along its length. You need to be self-sufficient, and can choose to sleep in wild nature in your own tent, or there are huts along the way where you can find refuge, especially when there is brisk weather. The huts are available for free and can be used on a first-come-first-served basis.
Note that in 2021 a new ATV track was established which overlaps the trail, so the authorities are developing a new Southern ACT Route that is longer but allows visitation of a settlement in the region.

What better way to experience raw Greenlandic nature than tenting in Kangerlussuaq backcountry on ice? Camp Ice Cap is a unique experience where you will wake up to the view of the Greenland Ice Sheet, with nobody else around you except for your companions.
Go for a hike with crampons on ice the following day with the guidance of an experienced tour guide.

Nestled within Igaliku’s UNESCO World Heritage surroundings, the historic heart of Norse Greenland, Garðar, invites visitors to explore ancient ruins, hike breathtaking landscapes, and embrace a tranquil pace amidst flourishing valleys and the foundational sheep farming settlement, all while respecting the farmers’ lush grass fields.
A cosy overnight stay in the Camping Pods is an option to consider! There are 3 compact wood-paneled pods in total, sleeping comfortably for two, and all guests are welcome to use the shared kitchen, toilet and shower facilities in the house next door.

Erfalik Lodge, Greenland’s most remote flyfishing haven, sits amidst vast tundra, pristine rivers, glaciers, and majestic mountains. Its heart is the panoramic living area with a wood stove, perfect for unwinding, storytelling, and a full digital detox, given its lack of Wi-Fi. The main room houses a dining space, offering delicious meals primarily from local ingredients. Given the lodge’s remote location, vegetables are scarce but fresh seafood is abundant. Guests can stay in 3 bed and 2-bed (bunk) configurations, and a nearby green cottage offers rooms including for families. Each room has a pakto toilet. The soul of the lodge can be found in the small library, rich with books about the Arctic’s history, culture, and explorers.
