1. TRY SOMETHING NEW at Katuaq Cultural Centre

Katuaq Culture Centre’s building echoes the form and movement of the nearby fjord, icebergs, and the northern lights. It’s divided into a cinema, a café, and various multi-purpose auditoriums and exhibition spaces. The design of the building makes it surprisingly spacious and bright inside, offering plenty of space for kids to play. At the café, CaféTuaq, you can try local meat like musk ox and reindeer. Kids will enjoy the experience of trying something new while in a familiar form – treat them to a musk ox hot dog or a reindeer hamburger.

2. GET INTERACTIVE at Nuuk Art Museum

The art museum includes historic art as well as carvings in soapstone, bone, wood, and tooth. It houses a children’s exhibit and provides opportunities for kids to get interactive. In the art search activity, children become immersed in the art while searching for visuals provided for them in a pamphlet.

3. BE AN EXPLORER on the Art Walk

Get even more active with art on the museum’s art walk which leads you around the city. The whole family will enjoy searching for redfish, polar bears, seals, and Greenlandic myths and legends in the form of art. Children feel like discoverers while hunting for unique art pieces and learning about the local culture.

4. PLAY in the vast landscape

Sailing with Vandrehuset.com, you can spend a day at a lovely summer hut in the Kangerluarsunnguaq fjord. Options here are endless – enjoy a walk in nature, take in the beautiful landscape, or perhaps try fishing with your bare hands. Kids can use their energy to explore a new and boundless environment.

5. RIDE THE WAVES on board Sarfaq Ittuk

Sarfaq Ittuk is a passenger ferry that sails along the west coast of Greenland. Smaller than most cruisers, you will see places only accessible by boat. With a children’s playroom and family-friendly entertaining areas, you’re sure to make friends that feel like family on Sarfaq Ittuk. And when the sun shines, kids will never get tired of watching the constantly changing scenery drift by. Have them keep an eye out for whales on the way.
