All main roads in East Greenland are waterways through fiords and sounds, in zig zags between icebergs, and under steep, jagged peaks. Lesser known byways travel across mountain passes, along fiords, cut into the backcountry, and skirt around meltwater lakes, and these hiking routes are only accessible at trail heads beginning where a boat ride ends.
