Hot springs in Greenland

Hot springs are an arctic phenomenon and in Greenland a common one, as they differ from other hot springs in the arctic due to the warmth's origin.
I photographed this group of photographers in the Disko Bay one early morning. I still think they were pushing the limits a little bit with regards to how close to the edge of ice they seem to be, but I'm guessing the captain was in 100% control. By Stian Klo

Inside the 2018 Disko Arts Festival

We had flown down from Uummannaq two days prior, and had arrived in Ilulissat the previous morning. After a restful night’s stay at the Hotel Arctic, we took our bags and made our way down to the tourist dock, passed the hulls of old wooden boats in refit, and towards the young Greenlandic man standing by the gangway in a blue, quilted jumpsuit.

All about Greenland's vikings

In Vikings: Valhalla (2022), a historical series on Netflix, the two Greenlandic Vikings, Leif Eriksson and Freydís Eiríksdóttir immediately caught our eyes. As descendants of Erik the Red, they proudly say that they are from Greenland. In Greenland, not only Inuit people but also Vikings had been living in South Greenland for more than 400 years.
